Artifact, an AI-Powered News App

More than four years after leaving Instagram, its co-founders are back to announce the launch of a new application: Artifact. Today at 1NA Digital, we tell you what this new proposal is all about.

The launch of Artifact shows how artificial intelligence continues to play an increasingly important role in the consumption of content, including news, on social networks.

What is the idea behind the application?

Basically it is to create a personalized feed containing selected articles from publishers ranging from major newspapers, such as The New York Times, to texts from small creators from the most diverse niches, with the aim of becoming a sort of "TikTok for texts".

Artifact users will see a feed of selected news items. Once you click on an article, the app will display similar stories as it learns more about the person's reading preferences. It will also include other features, such as a feed of news posted by people you follow that includes their comments on the article. Artifact will also allow you to comment with your friends through private direct messages.

It is important to highlight that Artifact's content will be selected from approved sources, which guarantees you high quality news and information. The company checks, through a fact-checking process, before approving them. However, the algorithm can also provide content that the user does not agree with.

The app is now available for Android and iOS, and people interested in trying Artifact need an invitation, but can currently sign up for a waiting list.

AI is no longer the future, it is the reality. For you, what are the risks and opportunities of this technology?
